32. “Weary…? Burdened…? Come To Me. I Will Give You Rest!” – Jesus

Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

The Invitation
“Are you labouring for the food which perishes?
Are you wearing yourself out?
Work, work, work – but it never ends.
There’s always more to do – and worse than that
– it’s just more of the same!
You have to work to live,
but you’ve ended up living to work.
You finally get home and all you seem to have is more work
– cooking, washing, cleaning.
As a member of the human race
you’ve joined the Rat Race;
but you don’t know
how long will it last?
which direction to take?
what are the rules?
Is there a prize for winning this race?
Or is it that you just stop running?
You just feel like giving up – what’s the point anyway?
There’s so much water under the bridge.
Broken relationships, broken promises, broken dreams.
Time and time again you’ve been let down.
But you know that you’ve let them down too.
Can it ever be made right again?
You’re out of your depth, you don’t know what to do.
You don’t, you can’t ……
But I can, and I will.
Just bring all of your problems to me,
Anything that’s getting you down.
I love you and I will be there for you,
I will help you –
to be the best you that you can be.
I’ll give you power and purpose,
Peace and joy.
Now and forever.
Try me.”
